New Groups Added as Special Feature
Official Press Release - Excellence in Support Services Theme, Newbridge Town Band performing, Free Facepainting, Ballycommon, Ballinagar and Geashill Town Twinning, Parade Prizes

As final preparations are being made for this year's St. Patrick's Day Parade in Tullamore a number of new entries will certainly feature on the day. Offaly Hospice and Dochas are being honoured for their work in the community. Newbridge Town Band will take part for the first time. Ballycommon, Ballinagar and Geashill Town Twinning group will also enter for the first time and the town in France with which they are twinned will be represented by nine of their members, including the Mayor. The Rose of Tralee will attend the Presentation Night to present prizes to the winners in various categories.
The Parade is being held on Saturday 17 March commencing at 11.30 a.m. sharp. The assembly point is the Car Park of the Bridge Centre Shopping Centre and groups should be there at 10.45 a.m.
The Parade route is High St., Bridge St., Colmcille St., over the Kilbeggan Bridge onto Arden Rd as far as the GAA Centre. Business entries assemble in Kilcruttin, opposite the Railway Station.
Ballycommon, Ballinagar and Geashill Town Twinning group are twinned with the French town of Jaux near Paris and nine of their group will attend, including the Mayor of Jaux, Michel Jeanerot. Some 100 children from schools in Ballycommon, Ballinagar and Geashill will march in the Parade with an array of local and French Flags and streamers.
Local shops and busineses are encouraged to decorate their windows and judging for the Best Window Display will commence next week. There is a special prize for this category.
Yet again there will be a prize for the Best Dressed Dog and dog owners are encouraged to bring their pets out for this special day and dress them in their best!
Face Painting will be provided free of charge by Playtown Tullamore from 10.30 a.m. to 11.15 a.m. at the rear entrance to the Bridge Shopping Centre, near the Cinema.
As usual there will be generous prizes for the winning entries in the following categories,

We would like to thank the many businesses who support us each year and our Committee members will be calling to businesses over the coming week to collect the subscription. Business entries are welcome in the Parade and should assemble in Kilcruttin, Opposite the Railway Station.
