The Tullamore St. Patrick's Day Parade promises to have a menu of entertainment ranging from good music, dancers, fantastic floats full of colour, great sense of humour and great ideas about The Future.
Five major Bands will march through the town and entertain the large crowds who line the streets.
Many sporting organisations will also bring their colours and entertainment to the event.
The Parade takes place on Sunday next 17 March starting at 11.30 a.m. sharp.
There will be entertainment at the Review Stand from 11.00 a.m. provided by Tullamore Comhaltas and the Durrow Set Dancers, so get there early !
The Colour Party will be lead by local man, Commandant Pat Tobin. This will be Pat's 21st year doing this and unfortunately his last.
The assembly point for community groups is the Car Park of the Bridge Centre and groups are asked to be there by 11.00 a.m. at the latest. Please co-operate with Stewards. Assembly for businesses is at Kilcruttin, opposite the Railway Station
The route is High St., Bridge St., Colmcille St. and over the Kilbeggan Bridge onto Arden Rd with finish at the GAA Centre. Groups will not be allowed to disperse before or immediately after the Kilbeggan Bridge for health and safety reasons.
The theme for this year is The Future and groups can reflect this theme in their entry.
It could be the future for their organisation or a vision about the future of the Town, County or World.
It could also be an issue which has to be addressed in the future. Let the imaginations run wild !!
The Grand Marshall for this year is local man John Flanagan in recognition of his huge contribution to Tullamore and Offaly over many years.
